How to get here

Cooktown is a beautiful, exciting town located on the banks of the historical Endeavour River. It is the hub of the region and boasts many activities for tourists and visitors alike without losing its charm.

Cooktown can now be reached from Cairns and Tablelands via a sealed bitumen road. The alternative route is on the famous ‘coastal road' via Wujal Wujal Community. Check with Douglas Shire Council for ferry times and prices.
